My Story

Hi, I’m Jia Hong — a film director and videographer from Malaysia.
My journey began under a starry sky. I was simply curious about how to take pictures of the sky, and that small curiosity led me to pick up a DSLR camera for the first time. That’s how everything started for me.
During the MCO, I recorded a phone review just for fun. I found myself enjoying the process of putting everything together—from writing a basic script to editing the video. That experience made me realize how much I enjoy working behind the scenes.
After finishing high school, I had the chance to work as a videographer and editor at a company called FotoCharlie Sdn. Bhd. It was a valuable learning experience. Over a year, I worked on various types of videos, from landscapes to portraits, and gradually built up my skills and confidence.
In 2022, I enrolled in film school at Multimedia University to continue learning and growing in this field. There, I met many inspiring friends and lecturers who encouraged me to see things differently, both in film and in life. I’m truly grateful for their guidance and encouragement.
My goal isn’t just to make films, but to tell meaningful stories — especially about people whose voices often go unheard. I find inspiration in real life and believe that everyone’s story is worth telling and can become a character on screen.
I mainly focus on films but also enjoy creating videos for events and commercials. Whether it’s a short film, documentary, or simple video, I hope my work connects with others and feels genuine, heartfelt, and purposeful.
Thank you for visiting my site. Feel free to explore my projects, get in touch, or just say hi. I’m still learning, but I’m excited for what lies ahead.
